Visiting the biggest plantations of Cacao trees forest in the Dominican Republic and learning about this story with Natives Tour guides.
Once we arrive at this beautiful lush location, we’ll embark on a breathtaking hike through the Dominican jungle. During the trek through the forest, we’ll get the chance to see a wide variety of tropical plants, among which orchids stand out. We’ll also see several cacao and coffee plantations.
After a two-hour hike, we’ll arrive at Salto de La Jalda, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the Dominican Republic. Once we get to this magnificent waterfall, which has a height of over 120 meters (400 feet), you can enjoy a refreshing swim in the pool at its base. The crystal-clear waters come from the Cordillera Septentrional, one of the main mountain ranges in the north of the country.
We’ll take a break next to the waterfall for lunch – don’t forget to bring your own picnic! After lunch, we’ll walk back to the community of La Loma, where we’ll enjoy a traditional homemade fruit wine. You can also opt for water or a soft drink, which we’ll accompany with chocolate and sweet and salty cookies.
