Description
Explore the beautiful Jungle of the National Park del Este, which is mostly know for excursions to Saona and Catalina Island.
Meet your tour guide at our beachfront office, where you will receive a overview of the day. Please let us know if you require transport to the meeting point (*additional fees might apply)
Our first stop of the day is the Padre Nuestro Ecological and Archaeological Jungle Trail, which is located inside the National Park del Este just outside Bayahibe. You will learn about the first inhabitants of the Dominican Republic (the Tainos) and the Flora and Fauna, which is unique to the East Coast of Hispaniola.
At the end of the trail we visit a stunning fresh water cave “Cueva de Chicho”. Take a refreshing dip in the crystal clear waters or simply be amazed by Stalagmites, Stalactites, bats and rock art.
After a short drive we will reach the River Chavon, where our traditional river boat is already waiting for you.
Now it is time to enjoy the local life, we will visit a local “Colmado” in Bayahibe which is similar to a small supermarket and can be found in each village. Have a refreshing drink amongst the locals, listen to music and enjoy the scenery.
